Why OSH Monitoring?
Types of OSH Monitoring Services We Offer
People working with chemicals

With the Chemical Health Risk Assessment or CHRA, employees can be securely protected from the adverse effects of chemicals. The CHRA is compulsory by Use and Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health Regulations 2000.

Employers are required by Regulation 26 of Use and Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health Regulations 2000 to conduct Chemical Exposure Monitoring to ensure that the exposure of hazardous chemicals or substances is closely monitored and analysed.

Chemical Exposure Monitoring includes:

  1. Direct reading of instruments for gas/vapour sampling
  2. Gas-detecting tubes

iii. Measurement of atmospheric conditions

  1. Assessment of sampling instruments
  2. Analysis of dust concentration
  3. Chain of custody and frequency of monitoring

The OSH Noise Exposure Regulations 2019 instructs that all companies must conduct Noise Monitoring in order to reduce noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) among company employees. Although our main service is Noise Risk Assessment, MySHEQA offers many services for companies to abide by the regulations

Scope of Work

  1. Area Noise Monitoring / Mapping – To map work area into 3 different noise zones & to identify and confirm the noise sources, level & type of noise created at the selected locations/areas.
  2. Personal Noise Monitoring (8 Hours) – To assess personal noise exposure on selected personal working at the following high noise area for 8 hours. One personal noise monitoring at each high noise area
  3. Recommendation to reduce Noise – To recommend management on the appropriate measures to be taken in any event the result recorded exceeded the action level and permissible level.
Industrial chimneys

The most efficient engineering control equipment used to regulate air contaminants at a workplace is the Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) system. As said in Regulation 17 of Use and Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health Regulations 2000, it is mandatory for any engineering control equipment, which includes the LEV, to be self-inspected monthly and tested yearly by a Hygiene Technician for functionality. In Regulation 18, it is stated that all LEV systems must be tested by the engineer after installation. Furthermore, Regulation 19 requires all employers to keep records of their LEV design, construction, evaluation, and maintenance, incase of request for viewing by DOSH.must meet the approved standards of a professional, registered engineer and the LEV

The Audiometric Testing Program tests your ability to hear all sorts of sounds that vary in loudness (intensity) and speed of sound wave vibrations. We offer mobile Audiometric Services on-site that can keep your employees healthy and help you meet the standards of the OSH Noise Exposure Regulations 2019.

Scope of Work

  1. DOSH Registered Occupational Health Doctor (OHD) reviews all procedures and finalizes the report with signature
  2. Compilation of individual test and summary of report will be presented to Company in 2 weeks after testing are done

According to the Industry Code of Practice on Indoor Air Quality 2010, a healthy working environment cannot be achieved when the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is less than adequate. IAQ issues usually stem from indoor air pollutants or faulty ventilation. Thus, IAQ Assessments must be conducted regularly in order to meet the legal requirements of Section 15 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and to keep the workplace safe.

The purpose of this code of practice is to ensure that employees and other occupants are protected from poor indoor air quality that could adversely affect their health and well being, and thereby reduce their productivity.

Scope of Work

To provide competent personnel & equipment for in-situ measurement/ collection, laboratory analysis and report generation (covering data evaluation, ascertaining source/(s) of concern, and where relevant recommendation to overcome any inherent issues) to comply with the Industry Code of Practice on Indoor Air Quality, 2010 issued by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health, Malaysia.

Environmental Monitoring

Environmental monitoring consists of multiple procedures and operations that characterises and tracks the quality of the environment. This type of monitoring is performed before having environmental impact assessments or while there are human activities being carried out that are potentially harmful to the environment. All environmental monitoring is designed to gather the current status of the environment and all environment monitoring results will be examined and published.

Noise is commonly defined as unwanted sound, independent of loudness that can produce a desired physiological or psychological effect in an individual, and that may interfere with the social ends of an individual or group. Boundary and environmental noise will be an issue, especially in industrial areas or high population areas, and the source of noise and their adverse effects on our well being can be varied.

MySHEQA able to make suitable noise measurement and monitor the environmental noise over periods of durations to measure and assess risk, whilst offering practical solutions which specially design for your needed to reduce the exposure and comply with noise regulation.

One of the common noise monitoring, boundary noise monitoring requested for a combination of regulatory, environmental and measurement of noise exposure to neighbouring premises.

Scope of Work

The proposed scope of work aims to conduct assessment and prepare adequate documentation for complying to Environmental Quality Act 1974 PART IV – PROHIBITION AND CONTROL OF POLLUTION (Section 23 – Restrictions on noise pollution)

The Assessment Process

Boundary noise monitoring will be carried out at 4 locations around the boundaries of each of two facilities which, such locations to be determined at the time the monitoring is carried out. It is anticipated that the boundary noise monitoring exercise will be carried out over one working day
