1. Pay attention to your surroundings

2. Maintain good posture
As you may sit for a prolonged time while working, it is important to maintain good sitting posture. Right sitting posture reduce fatigue and back pain. It increases your productivity while working. 3. Update safety issue to your superior
Immediately report any safety issue or unsafe conditions to your superior. Your immediate action will help to prevent any dangerous occurrences. As much as your superior is responsible to provide safe working condition in the workplace, you need to do your roles too in assisting him by providing information.
4. Stay alert and sober
No compromise should be made on safety related issue. Adhere to any new safety procedures and stay fit at the workplace. Always adhere to No Drug and Alcohol Policy at your workplace. You need to be in a well and sober condition to do your work. Your failure to do so will affect you and might as well your colleagues. It may lead to accident and injuries at workplace.
5. Wear your Personal Protective Equipment
It is important for you to use the right personal protective equipment (PPE) when working. It is provided to you by your employers to ensure that you are working safely. 6. Use mechanical aids when necessary
Mechanical equipment is there to help in handling your work. When you are dealing with heavy equipment or any lifting job, make sure you use mechanical aids. You do not want to harm yourself by handling it manually.
7. Keep Emergency Exit clear
Obstructed Emergency Exit will block your exit during emergency cases. Keep your emergency exit clear of any items as you need quick access in emergency. Remember to not place any item at your emergency exit even for a short time.
Safety at workplace is an ongoing process. Day by day, there will always be room for improvement. To do so, cooperation of employees is important to ensure the workplace is safe. Employees should not be hesitant to engage with your management in discussing safety related issue.
