What Is Basic Rigging and Slinging Training All About?
This is a 2-day program specially designed for those who are working at activities where slinging & rigging is required in the crane operation. This program is aimed at helping participants understand the hazards and risks while working in lifting operations. This would also meet the requirements in the Special Order set by DOSH pertaining to Safe Lifting Operation No 2 2020.
Workers who are industrially involved with hoisting and rigging activities should be undergoing proper training as it can be extremely dangerous if not handled properly. Having a competent and qualified rigger ensures safety and accomplishing the job efficiently.
It is important to have knowledge such as weight of load and rigging slings hardware, the capacity, the maximum load of hoisting rope, and various equipment. Having awareness of other elements that could affect the hoist, capacity, rigging, lifting and landing loads are part of the safety practices.
Course Objective Of Basic Rigging and Slinging Training
- ▪️ Observe general safety-first rules and carry out his duties in a safe and responsible manner.
- ▪️ Have knowledge of the safe working load of the crane he is working with.
- ▪️ Have full knowledge of hand signal (API Standard and Australian Standard and BS 7121-1: 2006 Part 1: General: Code of Practice for safe use of cranes) & UoC CPCCLRG3001A.
- ▪️ Understand the correct type of sling, hook shackle, etc. for the load.
- ▪️ Emergency Response Team members
- ▪️ Understand the use of rope, chain, and shackle.
- ▪️ Understand not to use damaged wire rope or fiber rope, slings, or chains where the links are not free or kinked wire rope.
