WHAT IS AUDIOMETRY TESTING PROGRAMME (ATP)?
Audiometric testing provides an evaluation of the sensitivity of a person’s sense of hearing and is most often performed by an audiologist using an audiometer. An audiometer is used to determine a person’s hearing sensitivity at different frequencies.
The employer must establish and maintain an audiometric testing program. The important elements of the program include baseline audiograms, annual audiograms, training, and follow-up procedures.

Occupational Safety and Health (Noise Exposure) Regulations 2019;
- Regulation 9(1) If Noise Risk Assessment report exceeds the NEL stated in Regulation 6(1)(a), (b) or (c), employer must conduct audiometric testing on the employee every 1 year.
