Basic Fire Fighting Training


Fire emergencies can happen anytime at the workplace and have various causes. The risk of injury and damage towards people, properties, and the environment are all at stake. In order to minimize it, the best way will be by having fire safety management planning. This Basic Fire Fighting Training is structured in accordance to legal requirements, regulations and other relevant Industrial Codes of Practice. This training will provide participants with the necessary knowledge and understanding of fire safety legislation and firefighting procedures relevant to the workplace.  


At the end of this training, participants will be able to: 

  • Gain knowledge on current fire safety legislation or local fire codes and its compliances 
  • Describe the chemistry of fire and how fire spreads in the workplace 
  • Identify fire hazards in the workplace or sources of ignition 
  • Understand the fire prevention techniques/control measures 
  • Understand the need of proper fire detection, protection systems and other emergency equipment in the workplace 
  • Practical knowledge of the use of fire extinguishers (PASS Technique) 


  • Overview of OSHA 1994 and Fire Service Act 1988 
  • Fire Safety Management 
  • Understanding and Operating Fire Fighting Equipment 
  • Practical Session of Fire Fighting – Using Fire Extinguisher/Hosereel and Hydrant (Optional) 


  • Fire Team Members, Fire Wardens 
  • Safety and Health Committee Members 
  • Emergency Response Team Members 
  • Persons involved in fire routine procedures 
  • For all employees up to supervisory level who are required to assist in the event of a fire emergency
