WHAT IS CHEMICAL EXPOSURE MONITORING (CEM)?

The term “chemical exposure monitoring” typically means the measurement of employee exposure to airborne vapours, mists, fumes or dust particles. The objective of Chemical Exposure Monitoring is to measure hazardous contaminants suspended in air that is being exposed to employees.  This monitoring is used by occupational health and safety professionals to assess workplace contaminants and compare it against the stipulated limit depicted in the Occupational Safety and Health (Use And Standards Of Exposure Of Chemicals Hazardous To Health) Regulations 2000.
